The Obersalzberg and the Third Reich

This brochure conveys only a small part of the events on the Obersalzberg and of the connection of the mountain with the illfated history surrounding Adolf Hitler. lt cannot show all aspects of the rise and fall of the Third Reich. Same of the photos were taken by Hein­rich Hoffmann and were pure propaganda pictures which served only one purpose: presenting the Obersalzberg as a private ideal world around the Fuehrer" and crea­ting the myth of the people 's chancellor fand of children". The consequences of Hitler's dictatorship must never be forgotten: war, ruin and the death of millions of people.
